The excitement is reaching crazy-take-me-to-disneyland-like-levels-for Glastonbury next week. I’ve downloaded the EE line-up app, compared my line up to my pals, and been mind-blown by the amount of music choices to make.
Rewind back to 2008: my first & last time at Glasto. I was smug AF to be skipping sixth form with my friend, blasting out Dizee Rascal all the way down in his car-
Thinking we were mad cool in our customised- ‘GLASTO 2008’ paint splattered Tshirts. There were some unforgettable memories watching Amy Winehouse perform, and Jay Z blasting out Wonderwall-as his opening track, in a massive F U to Noel Gallagher. I can’t believe it’s taken 9 years for me to be going back…
This time -I’m ready to dance around the million different stages and cover everything in glitter. (I might need a rhythm / old lady stick to help me walk after last week’s walking marathon though…) With the sheer size of glasto, it’s basically a festival town, so it’s impossible to see everyone. That’s where the bbc coverage saves lives. I’m booking an extra day off to relive it all on the red button – probably crying that it’s over, maybe even re-pitch the tent on top of the inflatable crocodile in my living room, and use my last £10 on deliveroo. Beautiful scenes ahead.
This week I’ve been on a mission to get sparkled up in style. I’m hoping that the sun has big plans for us, because there really isn’t enough cool waterproofs out there.
